Hendrik Baartman (Sliedrecht, 1940) is an artist who works with constructive geometric shapes. He uses patterns derived from the classical concepts of balance and symmetry. Mathematical but also organic, these abstract shapes invite the viewer to participate in the experience of geometric beauty. Classic forms are pushed in new directions so that the viewer can experience the spiritual beauty and see that they have been upgraded for our complex high-tech times. With many artists he shares the idea that pure form is a valuable object and for each work of art he selects the materials needed to support the form.
The title of the work is 'Imaginary World no: 8' and has an edition of 50 pieces. The artwork is in top condition and was created in 1975. The print is a computer generated work of art, which is of course very special for the 1970s.
