Beautiful, rare and large Heissner garden gnome from the 1940s - 1950s East Germany, Thuringia, Gräfenroda Sitting gnome on whose knee a small bird has made itself comfortable. The gnome has a small pre-drilled hole in his mouth, the bird on the side of his body; presumably a device to position an incense cone under the figure.
