Exceptional handmade raku vase by the Dutch ceramist Hein Severijns, dated 1983.
A beautiful early work from his studio period, executed in a powerful organic form with a pronounced raku character.
The vase has a bulbous shape with a subtly raised rim and is crafted from dark stoneware with white crackle glaze. It features reddish-brown leaf motifs and fine blue-grey lines all around, which naturally blend with the crackle and the smoke traces from the raku firing. This creates a lively and unique surface that looks different from every angle.
The combination of artisanal technique, natural color nuances, and free decoration makes this a strong example of Dutch studio ceramics from the 1980s. Dimensions
