A striking and heavy Art Deco vase from ca. 1930, executed in opal glass with a matte etched surface. The decoration consists of abstract wavy lines in shades of gray, applied all around by hand via acid or sand etching.
The vase has an elegant oval shape with a narrow neck and convex belly, typical of the interwar period. Probably originated in France or Czechoslovakia, where this type of glass design was popular at studios such as Legras or Etling.
With a weight of over 2.3 kg and a height of 26 cm, this is a real eye-catcher on a table, cabinet or console. Suitable both for use as a flower vase and for purely decorative placement.
