Bedside or table lamp from the 1920s-30s featuring pierrot or harlequin treated in the art deco 'cascade' style with marked cubist influences in the presentation of the subject's body.
In very good, functional condition, with no defects to report other than the patina of age and the aged (but not damaged) fabric collar.
Ideally, the wire - in good condition - should be replaced in the future for everyday use, as it looks 'old' (or hidden as much as possible).
The ignition button is located on the base and is simply pressed.
A rare object, with a very pretty atmosphere, exuding great poetry thanks to the imploring position of the subject, the delicacy of the facial features and the contradtz of celadon/black colors.
Elegant and charming too, like a small cubist sculpture, but all finesse and lightness.
Indeterminate period material (resin or composite type) covered with celadon-green paint and black motifs, glued to a brown wooden base, probably a more recent lampshade in a kind of hardboard, black, gilded inside.
Length 23 cm with base, approx. 22 x8 cm, 9 with base, height approx. 30 cm for subject, 46 cm with shade.
To date, within the limits of my research, only one identical but non-functional lamp has been offered by a Canadian antique dealer...( if you'd like to make a pair...)
