Product description
The pictured ceramic set is by Hans Welling, a renowned designer who worked for several West German potteries in the post-war period, including Ceramano, Ruscha, and Keto. These pieces were designed and handcrafted for Ceramano Ransbach-Baumbach in Germany. He served as artistic director at Ceramano from 1959 to 1961, which clarifies the production period.
The "Ägina" (Aegina) design features wax resist and sgraffito techniques with geometric motifs in shades of brown and black on a cream-colored background.
