Product description
Original work in Indian ink by Hans Beers, a Dutch artist trained at the St.-Joost Academy in Breda, who was active in Antwerp from the 1970s. This stylistically rare drawing depicts a complex symbolic scene.
At the center of the composition stands an atomic skull, sculpted by stylized clouds evoking an explosion. At the bottom of the picture, two nude women's bodies, stretched out, seem to emerge or sink into dense vegetation, as if absorbed by nature or given over to the cycle of vanity.
Each stroke is executed with extreme precision; the quality of the gesture evokes an absolute mastery of the medium. This is a work of striking graphic power.
