The Gashgai are Turkish-speaking nomadic tribes known for their handmade Kelim – reversible, flat-woven wool rugs traditionally woven with great care and skill by women. Each Kelim is a unique work of art, lovingly handcrafted using a special slitting technique, where small openings create harmonious color gradients. The intricate patterns feature classic Gashgai motifs such as diamonds, squares, stripes, and the characteristic Caucasian star motif.
