The Torii 021 is a compact version of the classic Japanese shrine gate.
With its clean lines and balanced proportions, it brings the symbolism of a torii to smaller gardens, ponds, courtyards, or architecturally designed outdoor spaces.
A torii traditionally marks a transition—the step from an everyday area to a special place.
Even in this smaller form, it fulfills this role: It structures a garden space, emphasizes a path, frames a view, or makes a deliberate architectural statement.
The torii is not intended as a physical gateway, but rather as a design element that lends a place tranquility, structure, and meaning.
Dimensions & Proportions – Model Torii 021
• Overall height: approx. 100 cm
• Interior height: approx. 66 cm
• Interior width: approx. 48 cm
• Overall width at the top (Kasagi): approx. 100 cm
The proportions are based on classic Japanese torii gates, but adapted to a smaller format. This creates a harmonious structure that is particularly well-suited for gardens, ponds, or courtyards.
Material & Craftsmanship
The torii gate is entirely handcrafted in our workshop in Germany.
All components are made of solid wood and are carefully finished, sanded, primed, and varnished multiple times.
As standard, we manufacture this model from larch or Douglas fir, two proven woods for outdoor use with high natural durability.
Other wood types are available upon request, for example:
• Oak
• Accoya
• Bongossi
• or other suitable woods
Production can be tailored to the location, intended use, and design preferences.
Surface & Color
The standard Torii is finished in traditional Japanese red with black accents.
Alternatively, other colors are available, for example:
• Gray
• Anthracite
• Black
• Custom colors upon request
The surface is constructed with multiple layers, providing lasting protection against the elements.
Delivery & Installation
The Torii is delivered as a ready-to-assemble kit.
Depending on the location, it can be secured or installed in various ways:
• Inserting the posts into small ground sleeves in the garden
• Bolting them to foundation slabs
• Freestanding installation indoors using a base
Since the final installation method is often not determined at the time of purchase, mounting hardware is generally not included.
We would be happy to advise you on the most suitable solution for your specific location.
