Hand-painted porcelain vase, made by C.A.B. Firenze in the 1960s. Diameter 20 cm, diameter 8 cm, height 13 cm. The C.A.B. Firenze brand (often identified by the extended mark "C.A.B. Finissime Porcellane Firenze") refers to a manufacturer of artistic porcelain and ceramics active in the Florentine district. Most pieces attributed to C.A.B. Firenze date back to the post-war period, with a production peak between the 1950s and 1960s. This places it within the vibrant Florentine production landscape of Mid-Century Modern and classical-romantic taste. The manufacturer specialized in the production of figurative statuettes, often depicting animals (especially swans, herons, doves, birds), human figures, or romantic scenes. Also, furnishing objects, such as lidded vases, jewelry boxes, and other ornamental items. They used a high-quality porcelain paste. A distinctive feature is the abundant use of hand-painted pure gold details (usually 24 carats) to finish edges, feathers, and other particulars. The general style is decorative, sometimes with oriental influences (as in vases with floral motifs) but with a typically Italian sensibility and pictorial touch.
