A charming glazed ceramic pitcher with generous raised floral decoration, a refreshing piece that harks back to the joyful and colorful tableware aesthetics of the 1950s and 1960s. Its beautifully rounded silhouette is particularly successful. The globular body rises to a slightly constricted neck, then opens into a gently undulating rim, while the large pink handle follows the curve of the body. Standing approximately 18 cm tall, the pitcher boasts beautiful proportions and an immediate decorative presence. Its entire personality lies in its elaborate raised decoration. Large pink flowers, modeled directly onto the ceramic, stand out from the ivory surface, accompanied by green foliage and a scattering of small flowers running beneath the neck. The shades of pink and green delicately extend onto the neck and around the handle, featuring those characteristic gradients of mid-20th century decorative ceramics. The decoration was hand-painted, as indicated by the "Hand Painted" mark on the base. This manual application gives the flowers their color variations and small details, with each petal highlighted by bolder strokes that accentuate the relief. This exuberant floral aesthetic, combining modeling, pastel colors, and a glossy glaze, was genuinely popular in 1950s and 1960s interiors. After the more austere pre-war decades, home decoration gladly embraced color, flowers, and generous forms once again. This pitcher fully belongs to that world. It has retained a very good overall condition. The ceramic remains luminous, the floral decoration retains its colors and relief, while the handle and the undulating rim show fine integrity. The visible marks on the base naturally correspond to the contact and use of the piece over time. Once intended for the table, this pitcher can naturally retain its function, but its shape and decoration also make it a very pretty vase. A few fresh or dried flowers are enough to extend the ceramic's floral motif and turn it into a true decorative piece.
