A striking, sculptural ceramic vase from the workshop of Azouz Kharraz in Bizerte, Tunisia. Its exceptional form, with a curved handle and gently folded, organic opening, lends the object an almost figurative presence, clearly distinguishing it from classic vase shapes. The intensely turquoise glaze is interwoven with free-flowing, graphic ornaments in black, dotted and floral elements in green, and delicate gold accents. The decoration evokes abstracted plant and symbolic forms, blending traditional North African patterns with a surprisingly modern, almost postmodern aesthetic.
The flowing transition between the body and handle, as well as the asymmetrical silhouette, particularly emphasize the handcrafted nature of the piece, making it a distinctive design object with a powerful presence.
