Product description
This hand-knotted rug is made from wool and silk in Jammu (India).and has a knot density of approximately 500,000 knots per m2. As a result, it is as good as new.
The last 12 photos are of the bottom side of the rug (see white label). This side is almost the same as the top side. Which says a lot about the high quality of the knotwork. The colors differ in these 12 photos because of the lighting.
Jammu carpets are knotted by skilled artisans in India.
Their wool is of high New Zealand quality and is used exclusively for the carpet background, while all designs are made of silk down to the smallest twig.
The unique combination of craftsmanship, perfect weaving and high-quality materials combines the robustness of wool rugs with the finesse of silk rugs in one rug.
Indian carpets are traditionally characterized by their tight and straight knots and their special color palette.
This carpet is very durable and continues to hold its value.
