Absolute unique set of 4 side tables by the contemporary design brand Casalto Belgium.
The table line was introduced in 2019 by Casalto to honour the playfulness, boldness and creativity of the Memphis era design style, but with a contemporary twist.
The side tables evolve around a central metal foot where ceramic, brass and marble ornaments are grouped on top of each other, with the highest ornament (wooden base with marble top) functioning as the table top. The tables are modular since the ornaments are separate and removable. A very clever concept, as one can create different looks and compositions in this manner.
The 4 tables in question are an eclectic mix of ceramics, wood and marble, and have a very distinct design, yet the attribution to the Memphis design style is very recognizable at the same time. The color compositions of these 4 tables have been chosen to reflect the contrast of colours; black, white, metal and brass. The shapes of the ornaments reflect architectural tower structures somewhat, or perhaps even a slight hint towards lighthouses. Despite their different compositions, they look very well in harmony together.
The tables feature 3 carrara marble tops and one nero marquina black marble top for the smaller version.
The models of the line present different names relating to their design; Saint-Malo, Vendome and Vienna.
The dimensions of the tables are (D X H); 55 x 64 cm for the larger side tables and 35 x 44 cm for the smaller one.
The side tables are fully hand made however they’re not in production anymore, attesting to the uniqueness and rarity of this design.
The side tables come with full certification book and original purchase invoice, attesting to their authenticity.
The side tables have been used as exhibition and showroom models, therefore the wear on them is very limited.
The side tables can be purchased separately and together, the set consists of one low and small side table and 3 larger tables.
