Objects exist that tell a story even before they are touched. This one is no exception. This blown glass decanter, with its green-tinted neck, is entirely encased in hand-stamped brown leather. On the main face, a gilded brass medallion depicting a lion's head with a ring is set within a carefully cut and sewn leather cartouche. On the reverse, a green diamond geometric pattern extends across the entire surface, framed by a frieze of scrollwork. The neck is wrapped with braided leather straps. The stopper, made of turned wood with cork, completes the piece with the same understated elegance. This type of object, at the intersection of leather craftsmanship and glassmaking, is characteristic of popular luxury productions from the 1920s-1950s, found in Spanish and Moroccan workshops as well as in the grand tradition of Argentinian stamped leather. The lion's head, a noble and universal motif, makes it a discreet object of prestige, designed to adorn a desk, a library, or a liquor cabinet. Displayed on a shelf, it immediately captures attention. Light plays upon the reflections of the patinated leather, the gilded brass gleams softly, and the ensemble emanates that cabinet of curiosities atmosphere sought by enthusiasts of unique objects. Height approximately 20 cm. Its condition is very good. The leather is supple and well-preserved, the medallion intact, and the original stopper is present.
