This hand-knotted Persian rug from the Hamadan region in Iran is an authentic piece of craftsmanship dating from around 1970. The rug is characterized by a rich and detailed geometric medallion design, executed in deep, natural colors typical of the weaving traditions of this region.
The rug is crafted with a pile of high-quality wool on a sturdy cotton warp, ensuring durability and a comfortable texture. With a knot density of approximately 150,000 to 160,000 knots per square meter, it demonstrates the precision of the maker. The dimensions are 140 centimeters in width and 230 centimeters in length, with a thickness of approximately 10 to 12 millimeters. The color palette consists of warm red tones, complemented by accents in blue, green, and beige.
The rug is in good condition and has retained its original character and vibrant colors. The natural dyes and the quality of the wool contribute to the timeless appeal of this piece.
