Product description
Green Murano glass vase with *pulegoso* technique, made in the 1970s. Diameter 22 cm, Diameter 23 cm, height 31 cm. *Pulegoso* glass is a particular and distinctive blown glass technique, especially typical of the Murano furnaces in Venice, which experienced its heyday during the Art Deco period and in subsequent years. The term "*pulegoso*" derives from Venetian and refers to the bubbly, iridescent, and opaque appearance that characterizes this type of glass. The *pulegoso* effect is intentionally obtained by introducing small air bubbles into the glass mass during the melting or blowing process. This is done by adding volatile substances or granules that release gas to the glass mixture (or inserting them during processing), creating a myriad of micro-bubbles (*puleghe*) that cannot fully escape. The trapped bubbles make the glass opaque or semi-opaque and give it a textured, granular, and velvety appearance. The surface is not perfectly smooth, but appears textured and diffuses light, creating an almost shimmering effect. Additional details: - Brand: Murano - Style: Pulegosa - Period: Anni 70
