It was a branch of the wild olive tree that grew in Olympia (the "Kallistefanos Elea") intertwined into a circle or a horseshoe. The branches of the sacred wild olive tree near the temple of Zeus were cut by a so-called "pais amphithales" (a boy whose both parents were still alive) with golden scissors. The boy then took them to the temple of Hera and laid them on a table of golden ivory. From there, the "Hellanodikai" (the judges of the Olympic Games) would take them, make the wreaths and crown the winners of the Games. The item will be carefully packaged and shipped insured. Free pickup here in Utrecht is also possible.
