Product description
The Mandal mirror, released by IKEA in 1999, illustrates a short-lived but characterful period in the Swedish company's offerings.
Although the mirror was initially intended as a mass-market product, its visual language is surprisingly in keeping with the experiments in design of the late 1980s and early 1990s. The looping frame is reminiscent of the expressive contours of the Memphis movement and the playful interplay of lines that is also gaining renewed appreciation in contemporary interiors.
As a result, the model has since become a sought-after collector's item within the niche of vintage IKEA design.
