This glazed earthenware dish immediately catches the eye with the intensity of its colors and especially its striking central decoration, crafted in relief to resemble the heart of a sunflower. The composition masterfully uses a particularly successful contrast between a luminous ocher yellow and a deep brown. At the center, the clay is textured with a multitude of small impressions arranged radially, creating a dense and almost organic surface. The brown reappears on the rim and entirely covers the exterior of the piece. This combination of warm colors, the deliberately expressive handling of the material, and the highly stylized vegetal decoration place this dish squarely within the aesthetic of the 1960s-1970s, a period during which French workshops profoundly revitalized decorative ceramics.
