A rare glass-fused wall lamp by Glasstudio Van Tetterode, The Netherlands, 1950s. This remarkable wall lamp is an exceptional example of Dutch glass art, produced by Glasstudio Van Tetterode, the company founded by Floris van Tetterode. Combining artistic expression with functional design, it stands as a unique work of glass art. The glass panel was created using the technique of glass fusing. The shade consists of two layers of broken wired glass, with fragments of coloured glass carefully placed between them. The entire composition was then heated to a high temperature, causing the separate glass elements to melt and fuse into a single sculptural object. The result is a beautiful textured surface with extraordinary depth, colour and pattern, making each piece completely unique. The glass is mounted in a black metal frame designed for wall installation. When illuminated, the light shines through the fused glass, revealing the complex layers, coloured fragments and organic textures with stunning effect. Rarely encountered today, this wall lamp represents a beautiful intersection of Dutch studio glass, Modernist design and artistic craftsmanship from the 1950s.
