Product description
Giuseppe Chiari (Florence, 1926-2007) was the leading Italian exponent of FLUXUS, an avant-garde movement born in the 1960s that aimed to merge art and life, breaking down the barriers between different disciplines. For Chiari, "art is easy." In this work, music is not to be listened to but to be seen: music is not just sound but also graphic sign and gesture. The use of sheet music, a CD, and an opera libretto ("Concerto No. 1") transform musical time into a visual space. The artist uses "ready-made" materials (pre-existing objects) and immediate pictorial gestures, typical of his late-2000s production. Why buy this work? It has historical and intellectual value: owning a Chiari means owning a piece of the Fluxus movement. It is not just a "painting," it is a manifesto of the idea that music can be seen and art can be experienced. Multisensoriality: the physical presence of real elements (the CD, the score) breaks down the two-dimensionality. It's a work that "plays" even when it's still on the wall. It's a safe investment: Chiari is a historic artist with a stable market. Its provenance (Galleria Lo Zodiaco) and authenticity make it an easily resold asset with a proven value. It has a timeless aesthetic: the contrast between the rigor of the score and the instinctive use of color makes it suitable for both ultra-modern contexts and vintage or industrial spaces. I thought that a work like this shouldn't just be an object hanging on a wall. The painting is the protagonist of a story, and the interior design I imagined expresses it. Giuseppe Chiari is an artist who has lived by "gestures" and "total music"; Surrounding his work with a real instrument (the double bass) and a wall that looks as if it has seen a thousand concerts (the peeling red) is the most honest and powerful way to display his art, so that... any home can become an avant-garde art gallery.
