Product Description
Relax in style with this very comfortable Girsberger Euro1600, featuring a heavy stainless steel base and synthetic cushions, designed by Hans Eichenberger for Girsberger and made in Switzerland in the late 1960s. The chairs were designed in 1966. The design combines sleek, architectural lines with inviting seating comfort, characteristic of the Swiss design tradition. The chairs are crafted with a chrome-plated steel frame that creates a floating effect. The construction utilizes sturdy tension straps that support the cushions, contributing to both the aesthetics and functionality of the design. They offer a great seat!

Maker
Hans Eichenberger is an interior architect from Switzerland. He designed some of the most beautiful pieces of furniture from the Swiss Mid Century Modern era. Many famous Swiss companies such as De Sede, Strassle, and Girsberger collaborated with him.
Condition:
Frame: Very good (The chrome frame is structurally intact and has no rust, but does need a polish);
Cushions: Fair. New foam needs to be installed in the cushions.
Upholstery: The visible outer upholstery is in reasonable condition. On both cushions, the fabric has come loose at the bottom in several places. There is a small cut of about two centimeters in one of the seat cushions. (See photos.) Nothing a good upholsterer wouldn't be able to fix.
Given the asking price at which these chairs are offered online, my advice would be to choose beautiful leather upholstery (see the second-to-last photo). On Whoppah, I see that good leather examples range between €3,000 and €5,400 (last photo). Not only beautiful, but also a good investment.
