The gold scoop / ginger scoop (left): This is a specific ginger scoop. The flat, shield-shaped scoop is intended to gently pick up slices or cubes of fruit without damaging them. Sometimes this model was also used as an ice cream scoop or pastry scoop. The ginger spoon (right): This is a matching serving spoon with a deep, round bowl. It was used to scoop up the fruit along with the accompanying sweet syrup. Although they were originally made for ginger or mignardises (small sweets), nowadays the flat scoop can of course also be perfectly used for serving a soft cube of cheese or pâté.
