This Lövbacken side table is a fantastic 1950s design side table/coffee table.
It's an IKEA-updated version of the famous mid-century Lövet table. Originally launched in 1953, the Lövet table was Ikea's first flat-pack product, created by one of Sweden's most successful designers, Gillis Lundgren, and has thus proven to be a very important design.
If you manage to find the original, you'll have a side table worth over €1,000. Experts at the Swedish auction house Barnebys have already labeled this updated version of the table as a future classic. The model features a wooden top with the characteristic grain pattern in poplar veneer and has three slender, removable legs and brass-colored feet.
This model was made in 1999. We have three of these tables in our collection, and all three were made in the same year. This makes it very likely that this iconic side table was only produced in that year.
This light brown version has a different pattern than the dark brown version and is also less common.
