With the "Cueillette" collection, released in the 1990s, Gien Faience reinterprets the great Flemish and French still lifes of the 17th and 18th centuries with the technical mastery that has built the manufacturer's reputation since 1821. The deep, almost lacquered black background makes the colors vibrate with striking intensity. The heirloom apples with golden highlights, the velvety peaches, the apricots brimming with light seem to have been placed there just moments ago, as if the painter had just put down his brush. Each piece is signed D. Lalande, whose compositions combine generous fruit bouquets, deep green foliage, delicate flowers, and large blue vases with classic forms. The brick-red border, highlighted with a gold fillet, frames each scene with understated elegance. The enamel retains a deep luster that reveals every detail with remarkable precision. One can imagine the low evening light playing on the enameled surfaces, making the golden gleam of the fruits emerge from the dark background, revealing the delicate nature of the foliage. The set consists of a large 30 cm serving platter and 7 matching dessert plates, all from the same collection. The back of each piece bears the Gien France stamp, the "Cueillette" mention, D. Lalande's signature, and the "Dishwasher Proof" indication. Very well preserved, with remarkably fresh decorations, no chips, no cracks.
