Gert de Rijk (Utrecht, June 27, 1945 – Utrecht, August 19, 2009) was a ceramist. As a boy, he worked at the Mobach pottery while studying at the Artibus academy in the evenings.
Since 1965, he had his own studio on the Oudegracht in Utrecht. In that year, he also met graphic artist Gerard van Rooy, with whom he held joint exhibitions and, in 1991, founded the ceramic collaborative group Z4 together with Anco van der Haar and Henk van der Haar.
He exhibited regularly both at home and abroad. His work spans a broad spectrum. Sometimes he created applied art, sometimes autonomous art.
