Gerdine Duijsens was born in Utrecht and studied at the Art Academy there. She also trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arendonk (Belgium).
Soon she painted very recognizable, cheerful scenes. With a few smooth lines, thick paint and refined details, she brings her figures to life. In her paintings it is a cheerful lot. The people in her performances are epicureans.
