Bergen op Zoom, NetherlandsView all items from this sellerThis monumental statue consists of 5 statues that form a complete image using stainless steel pins. constructed from slabs of marble, which ultimately end in a kind of flower shape. the whole stands on an invisible mobile pedestal.
the front of the statue, the ascending plate, has been edited.
The back is not. The ornaments on the top are so thin that sunlight can easily shine through and this gives the statue an extra dimension when it is placed in a bright place.
It is a fragile statue, which is why it can be completely taken apart and the parts are transported in separate wooden cases.
This modern sculpture fits in with whoppa's style.
I am the artist myself. I graduated from the art academy in Antwerp in 2009. Graduation towards Higher Sculpture .
Afterwards I worked for a number of years in all kinds of materials such as stone, steel, ceramics and plastic.
My original profession was a mechanical engineering teacher.
That is why my sculptures are often technical in nature and can be completely dismantled, a technique that is only seen with few sculptors.
Over the years I have exhibited in various places, and my work is currently still in the museum in Vledder.
The last exhibition I participated in in August 2023 was in the Markiezenhof in Bergen op Zoom (Hete Vuren)
In addition to my work as a sculptor, I am also a stone calligrapher.
Because I developed back problems and am no longer allowed to lift heavy loads, I switched to glass (kegs, slumping and pouring). That's why all my sculpture is for sale to free up space for glass. I no longer have a website.
