Product description
Dutch Gelderland Pillowcase. Early between 1680 and 1730. Beautiful deep 'grunts' - drop shaped ornaments in the hood. A typical Renaissance ornament often used by the Dutch. It is mainly the Italian Renaissance that the Dutch in the 17th century took as an example in which they nevertheless made their own interpretation. Striking is the blackened intarsia work ( inlaid wood) in the panels. You only see that in Brabant and Gelderland. Beautiful and deep fluting in the side posts and typical blackened Renaissance ornaments. The cabinet stands high on its bulbous legs making it rather elegant. Beautiful consoles with fine floral carvings connect the ball feet with bottom rail. Nice warm patina. Nice small size, 193 cm high. Transport: In the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, France and Spain we transport the furniture in packing blankets and put it inside. Other countries on a wooden pallet in sturdy cardboard and splash-proof foil and to the front door. For islands we charge a higher rate, delivery is to the door, please help because the driver is alone, the driver is not allowed inside or up the stairs. The carrier will contact you himself to deliver. He will have your phone number and email address. }}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Dutch Gelderland Cushion Cabinet.
