This compact armchair was specially designed for ladies by W.H. Gispen in 1935 and is the counterpart of the Gispen 412: the men's armchair. The ladies' armchair had a rounder back but had the same comfort. The chosen construction with a one-piece frame makes the chair spring lightly. Combined with a seat and back made of molded foam, this gives unparalleled seating comfort.
This timeless design adds both practical and aesthetic value to any interior, right down to Queen Juliana's study. A spacious, industrial design classic of 1-piece curved chrome / nickel-plated tubing with ornate upswept bakelite armrests, as a clear signature of Gispen.
The chair has been completely proffesionally reupholstered in a sturdy wool furniture fabric by De Ploeg. The original Gispen frame has some very light traces of use, but otherwise this beautiful armchair is in new condition.
