Original Gispen de White armchair, designed by Toon de White in the 1950s. This vintage armchair is completely in its original condition, covered with black leatherette upholstery. A nice detail are the optically floating black Bakelite armrests, which are also in very good condition.
Chair shows some corrosion on the back of the legs; no rust spots.
The chair is marked on the bottom.
Faux leather upholstery is intact and in good condition, but the chair can also be reupholstered if desired.

The company Gebr. de Wit NV from Schiedam was founded after the war by two brothers, Toon and Martien de White. Toon was the designer and worked as a designer at Gispen before the war. They supplied quality tubular furniture and also made it for Gispen, among others. The company closed its doors in 1977.Metal base has corrosion on the back of the base.
