This is the G3 coffee table, designed by Just Van Beek for the Dutch manufacturer Metaform during the 1980s. The piece is defined by its striking combination of industrial materials and geometric forms, characteristic of late twentieth-century Dutch design.
The table features a substantial, textured glass top that rests upon a brushed metal base. The base is constructed with a circular metal band supported by three angled, triangular legs, creating a dynamic visual tension. The textured surface of the glass adds depth and tactile interest, contrasting with the sleek, polished steel of the frame. The transparent nature of the top allows the architectural structure of the base to remain fully visible from all angles.
