Impressive French-Style Art Deco Chandelier Dating From Approximately 1925–1935, Featuring An Elaborately Decorated Bronze/Brass-Toned Frame Combined With Four Pieces Of Frosted Pressed Glass.
Three Beautifully Curved Sculptural Arms Terminate In Flower-Shaped Frosted Glass Shades, While The Centre Of The Chandelier Contains A Large Matching Glass Bowl. The Glass Is Decorated With Delicate Stylised Botanical Motifs Characteristic Of French Lighting From The Art Deco Period.
The Metalwork Combines Flowing Floral Forms With Geometric Decoration Around The Central Body — An Attractive Transition Between Late Art Nouveau And Art Deco Design.
The Chandelier Retains A Beautiful Aged Patina, Giving The Piece Considerable Character.
Comparable French Chandeliers Of This Period Were Produced By Houses Including Degué, Muller Frères, Maynadier And Others. No Maker’s Signature Has Yet Been Identified On This Example And It Is Therefore Offered Without Attribution To A Specific Manufacturer.
