French Empire Folding Desk with Burr Walnut Veneer and Bronze Accents – High-Quality Antique Furniture
This beautiful French Empire folding desk is an impressive example of classic craftsmanship and elegant design. The piece stands on solid block legs and is adorned with ebonized solid bronze columns with gilded bases and capitals, giving it a luxurious and stately appearance. The richly detailed burr walnut veneer reveals a beautiful grain and emphasizes the refined finish of this antique masterpiece.
The lower section houses three large drawers with diamond-shaped ebony keyholes, while the fold-out writing surface reveals an ingenious interior. The interior consists of two large drawers disguised as six smaller ones, two genuine small drawers, and three arched niches containing mirrors, with the right mirror at the bottom featuring a subtle crack. The middle niche is elegantly flanked by solid bronze columns, and above the writing area is a single large drawer. All drawers are richly decorated and contribute to the bureau's unique appearance.
The furniture is handcrafted with a high-gloss polish and crafted from the finest woods, making it an impressive showpiece whether open or closed.
