This is a screenprint created by Frans Smeets (1925-2014). Frans Smeets was a versatile Dutch artist from Ottersum, active as a painter, draughtsman, glass and textile artist. He studied in Arnhem and Salzburg, among other places, where he met Oskar Kokoschka, and worked with glass-in-concrete in France. He taught at the Academy of Industrial Design in Eindhoven for over 30 years.
His work was characterized by expressive colors and the theme of impermanence, often elaborated in a life-like manner. He made both free work and monumental art in public spaces. JOS25013.
