This exceptional Frank Lloyd Wright Robie Side Table, faithfully produced by Cassina as part of their "I Maestri" collection, is a rare find from a limited edition crafted in Italy in 1989.
Originally designed by Wright for the Frederick C. Robie House in Chicago (c. 1908-1910), this table perfectly embodies the principles of Prairie Style architecture, showcasing a harmonious blend of simple, geometric forms and meticulous craftsmanship. The design is characterized by its strong vertical legs supporting a multi-layered, projecting square top and a lower shelf, emphasizing the horizontality and low-profile characteristic of Wright's work.
The table is in good vintage condition consistent with age and use. As noted, there are some dents present, which add to the authentic patina and history of this significant piece of design.
