The Margherita armchair is part of the permanent collection of the most important and renowned museums dedicated to industrial design, furniture, and modern and contemporary art. During the IX Triennale of Milan, Franco Albini presented a series of furniture commissioned by La Rinascente, including two armchairs made of malacca and rattan, which became the Gala and Margherita, respectively. Albini uses a sophisticated technical tension structure system to breathe new life into the original principle, enabling him to create an airy seating form that is not based on the concept of a structure to be upholstered, but in which the upholstery itself forms the load-bearing system. He won the gold medal at the IX Triennale of Milan. This chair was manufactured and sold by the company "Bonacina" in 1951. It is in very good condition, with some signs of age, but is fully solid and functional. Dimensions: 95 x 73 x 85 cm. Shipping within the Netherlands or Belgium costs €75 (personal delivery due to fragility). Shipping outside the Netherlands or Belgium is only possible at your own risk. Therefore, delivery within the Netherlands and Belgium will be personally handled by us. Outside the Netherlands and Belgium, collection is only possible after contacting us, the seller.
