Collection of four beautiful polychrome Majolica Planters. 'Nevers' manufacture, second half of the 18th century.
The planters are shaped like 'commodes', typical French bedside tables, which have three curved and lively drawers.
Each one is entirely hand-painted using the 'Trompe-l'oeil' technique, a naturalistic painting technique based on the use of chiaroscuro and perspective, which reproduces reality in such a way that it appears to the viewer as an illusion of reality.
A technique typical of Southern French production.
Truly excellent condition despite the age. Some chipping on the edges.
