In good condition and condition, quite flawless, is gilded and has a red stone in the forehead.
A considerable weight of 2.3 kg brass, detailed and ornate.
Foo Dog is Thai Siam Khmer bronze gilded Singha imperial lion Foo Dog temple sculpture.
The history of Foo Dogs goes back thousands of years in Chinese culture.
Originally, they were placed in front of temples and houses as protectors against evil spirits.
Sleek and minimalist to exuberant and detailed brass sculpture.
Dimensions are; height 29 cm, width 13 cm, depth 14 cm, weight 2.3 kg.
Presumably mid-20th century, but possibly older.
Would make a great accent piece in almost any setting.
