The stunning and iconic Skygarden 1 pendant lamp, a masterpiece of avant-garde art designed by Marcel Wanders for the renowned lighting manufacturer Flos, represents an exceptional and sophisticated interplay of material and stylistic contrasts. The exterior is composed of a minimalist hemispherical aluminum dome with a refined mirror-polished black finish, featuring clean, ultra-modern lines. The true magic of the piece is revealed when looking inside: the interior features a spectacular and detailed white plaster bas-relief, decorated with a rich display of neoclassical-inspired floral motifs, garlands, and leaves, reminiscent of the elegance of antique stucco ceilings. At the center of the dome stands the cylindrical diffuser in opal blown glass, embellished at the lower end with a photo-etched steel ring featuring an elaborate baroque lace geometric design. This combination ensures exceptional visual comfort: the light spreads softly, warmly, and indirectly, beautifully enhancing the white reliefs of the plaster without ever dazzling.
