The "Florian" coffee table was designed by Italian architect and designer Carlo Scarpa for Simon in 1973. The table has a heavy, transparent glass top that rests on a removable base of extra-thick brushed steel, demonstrating Scarpa's attention to materiality and structural clarity. The minimalist design and precise details reflect Scarpa's architectural philosophy, making it an important piece in mid-20th-century Italian design. The base can be placed 2 ways; normal or upside down.
