An elegant vintage two-light wall sconce, likely dating from the 1950s or 1960s, designed by or in the style of Janssen.
Its brass-like, gold-toned metal frame displays a generous floral motif composed of large, intricately worked leaves, from which two curved arms extend, each holding a delicate white opaline glass shade with a beaded rim.
The decorative vocabulary, blending gold-toned metal foliage, botanical lines, and opaline glass shades, evokes the creations of Janssen as well as French and Italian Hollywood Regency-style designs from the mid-20th century. This aesthetic is characteristic of the 1950s and 60s, at once elegant, sculptural, and highly decorative.
