Beautiful dinner plate from the Digoin Sarreguemines manufacture, part of the Capri pattern, in this cobalt blue on white palette which remains one of the most elegant examples of antique French tableware. The decoration is entirely concentrated on the rim. A wreath of large stylized flowers, with finely detailed petals, alternates with bouquets of foliage. A geometric frieze with lozenge motifs frames the entire design and highlights the edge of the plate. The well, entirely white, leaves ample visual space and gives the piece an understated and very contemporary elegance. Digoin Sarreguemines is one of the great French earthenware manufactures, whose history dates back to the 18th century. In the mid-20th century, the company produced tableware sets that furnished bourgeois interiors and restaurant tables. The Capri pattern, with its blue and white design that is both classic and graphic, belongs to this meticulous production of the 1950s-1960s. The reverse bears the stamp Capri, Réserve Casino, Digoin Sarreguemines, France. Diameter approximately 24 cm. The plate shows some discreet signs of use visible in the photographs, natural for a piece of this age.
