A striking first edition TC6 table lamp designed by top Dutch designer Aldo van den Nieuwelaar for Artimeta in the 1970s. The design is defined by its luminous circular glass tube combined with a simple geometric metal housing, creating a beautiful interplay between the circle and square.
The TC6 perfectly reflects Van den Nieuwelaar’s fascination with pure geometric forms, light and architectural simplicity. When illuminated, the glowing circle appears almost as a graphic object floating in space, making the lamp as much a sculptural statement as a functional source of light. This early first-edition example is a particularly desirable version of this iconic Dutch lighting design.
About the Designer
Aldo van den Nieuwelaar (1944–2010) was a Dutch designer known for his minimalist lighting and furniture. His work is characterized by elementary geometric forms, carefully considered proportions and the integration of light as part of the object itself. His designs have become recognized examples of Dutch modernist design.
