A very beautiful vintage ceramic vase by Carstens Tönnieshof, an iconic West German pottery manufacturer, dating from the 1960s. With its imposing height of 41 cm, this large piece offers a striking decorative presence, a slender, architectural form punctuated by reliefs, and remarkable textured glaze work in shades of beige, brown-black, and turquoise blue. Its raw, graphic design is characteristic of the modernist aesthetic of German ceramics from this period. Carstens Tönnieshof was among the important West German pottery manufacturers of the 1950s-1970s. A beautiful and highly decorative collector's item, it will easily find its place in a vintage, brutalist, modernist, or contemporary interior.
