An exceptional collector's item from the Mid - Century era: the rare lamp base comes from Carstens Tönnieshof, one of the most renowned manufacturers of West German ceramics of the 1960s. The famous Ankara decor was designed by Helmut Scholtis in 1964 and is one of the iconic glazes of the West German Pottery era. The version offered here in terracotta/dark brown with wax technique is particularly rare.
The ceramic measures 54 cm in height (without socket), 60.5 cm with socket, with a foot circumference of 58 cm. The electrics have been completely renewed, including technical approval. Equipped with 1.5 m long blue textile cable, Euro plug and white toggle switch. Socket: E27, up to 250 V.
The matching lampshade (Ø 30 cm) consists of a fabric-covered drum with a floral cotton pattern from England - colorful, detailed and particularly expressive when illuminated.
