For sale is an extremely rare touch-sensitive light lamp from the 1930s, designed by Marianne Brandt, one of the most important industrial designers and teachers of the Bauhaus era. The lamp was manufactured in the legendary Ruppel Works in Gotha, which were Aryanized by the Nazis in 1938 and subsequently nationalized by the GDR under the name GMF (Gothaer Metallwarenfabrik).
The base and the large touch-sensitive light switch are made of black Bakelite. The original opal glass shade has a white and blue flame effect. The arm is nickel-plated and tiltable via a joint.
This lamp, in such excellent condition and at such a reasonable price, is nowhere else to be found.
The lamp has been meticulously cleaned and is in fully functional, original condition.
