Beautiful and extremely rare canvas/advertising panel stretched on a wooden frame by the late influential Dutch top photographer Erwin Olaf (1959-2023) for the publicity of the iconic 2012 Lavazza calendar, the 20th edition of the calendar.
The image on the canvas is the January/February “strong man” photo from the 2005 Lavazza calendar, titled “Espress Yourself”, taken by Erwin Olaf. The canvas is unsigned, but the text “Lavazza calendar 2005 – Photographer Erwin Olaf” is printed at the bottom of the front.
These advertising canvases were produced as exclusive promotional material for high-end hospitality venues and trade fairs and were not intended for sale.
The calendar's series of photos is inspired by the circus world and creates a dreamlike, often ironic atmosphere, entirely in shades of white and red, depicting the relationship between man and woman in a witty, surrealistic manner.
