Discover this rare and timeless vintage solifleur set from the iconic German design of the 1970s – a perfect combination of two masterpieces from West Germany!
Set consists of:
Wavy block vase – Designed by Klaus Breit for Wiesenthalhütte
A sculptural icon in heavy, clear "ice glass" / block glass. The soft, organic wave shape with two vertical accent lines catches the light spectacularly and lends every single flower a modern, fluid elegance. Compact, heavy, and stable – pure minimalist art for a single stem (e.g., rose, orchid, or sprig). Height approx. 11 cm, typical Breit design from the legendary solifleur series.
Round disc vase with bubble – Designed by Heiner Düsterhaus for Walther Glas
A real eye-catcher: flat, round sculpture with hammered/ice texture, wide vertical groove, central rib, and a large, controlled air bubble as a statement element. The whole piece exudes Brutalist-Light and Space-Age Op Art – almost an abstract exclamation mark (!) in crystal. Ideal for a single flower that protrudes elegantly from the slot at an angle or horizontally. Diameter 15 cm, heavy and impressive.
Why this set is special:
Both pieces are authentic vintage from the golden age of German design glass (1970s) – hand-pressed, heavy crystal with perfect refraction.
Complementary duo: organic wave vs. sleek geometry – together a harmonious, contemporary-looking statement on a sideboard, shelf, windowsill, or dining table.
Even without flowers, they are pure works of art – collector's pieces that have been sought after for decades by enthusiasts of Mid-Century Modern, Brutalism, and German vintage glass (comparable to Kosta Boda or Peill & Putzler style).
Excellent condition – no chips, scratches, or damage visible (see photos). Perfect for: Minimalist interiors, Scandinavian modern, Brutalist, or Japandi style
